WASHINGTON, DC — WASHINGTON, DC — DC Affordable Law Firm is pleased to welcome Angela Gilmore, Interim Dean of the David A. Clarke School of Law at the University of the District of Columbia (“UDC Law”), to their Board of Directors.
Dean Gilmore has served as Interim Dean at UDC Law since July 2024. Prior to that, Dean Gilmore worked in the ABA Section of Legal Education and Admissions to the Bar, where she was Senior Accreditation Counsel for two years. She also spent many years as a professor of law and associate dean at North Carolina Central University School of Law in Durham, North Carolina.
Since 2020, DC Affordable Law Firm has partnered with UDC Law to recruit recent graduates for its 15-month fellowship program. This collaboration has enabled DCALF to serve more clients, strengthen fellows’ dedication to public interest law, and enhance the diversity of the firm's staff.
“I am thrilled to welcome Angela Gilmore to DC Affordable Law Firm’s Board of Directors. She brings a wealth of experience and expertise, and both the Board and DCALF will benefit greatly from her knowledge and input,” says Nancy Noonan, Chair of the DCALF Board. “Our partnership with the UDC David A. Clarke School of Law has been tremendously important to the recruitment and success of our fellowship program, and I can’t wait to continue to develop that relationship with Dean Gilmore.”
“I am deeply invested in improving access to justice,” says Dean Gilmore. “I look forward to working with the Board and the team at DC Affordable Law Firm to help them advance their mission and empower the community of modest- and lower-income DC residents they serve.”
